The problem
Our consultancy firm was approached by a client within the energy industry who had an outdated ERP system with no support, inefficient processes, and an old interface with bad UI. The customer also had no possibility to measure CO2 emissions, which was becoming a higher demand from customers and regulators.
The client was in the oil field service industry and needed to ensure the integrity and health of wells to prevent leakage and meet high sustainability requirements. The cost to improve the outdated ERP system was too high, and the client needed guidance to implement a new system that aligned with their sustainability and safety requirements.
Our approach
Our role in the project was to act as the customer's representative for the design of the ERP solution. We worked closely with all levels of the client organization to ensure that the solution was tailored to their specific needs. Our top priority was to deliver the project on time while meeting the high demands for sustainability and safety.
To achieve this, we started by conducting a pre-study to identify areas for improvement, define the project scope, and develop a plan for reaching the timeline. We performed a cost-benefit analysis to ensure that the most cost-effective solution was implemented. We prioritized the implementation of critical areas and modules while standardizing processes to ensure future upgrades would be smooth.
We set up a management process that drove the solution forward while ensuring minimal impacts on business operations. Throughout the project, we maintained a collaborative approach, working closely with the client to ensure that the solution met their specific requirements. We acted as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance and support at every stage of the project.
Our impact
The result was a ERP upgrade delivered on time and that met the clients demands for health, sustainability and safety. We were able to achieve this result within the timeframe of 1 year.
The upgraded system together with our design enabled the client to streamline their processes while gaining valuable insights into their CO2 emissions. The solution was also future proof in the sense that it was more standardized and ready for future upgrades som the ERP vendor.
